I recently heard from a former coworker who moved to NYC earlier this year. He told me he no longer writes code as a software engineer and I kind of died a little on the inside. Yes Claude and AI agents are quite good, but if you don’t use those skills you are going to lose them. I think something is lost when humans aren’t doing the bulk of the work.
